Why shadow puppetry, robotics and a science class are on the same site
People ask what a shadow-puppet stage, a robotics team and a school course have to do with each other. The short answer: in each one, I ran into the same problem — the thing only worked when I was there.
The robotics team stalled when I was absent.
The shadow play depended on one old building we didn’t own.
The science class fell apart when a different teacher taught it.
So the second version of each was about the same thing: making it work without me. A portable stage that fits in a box, subsystems other students could run, a lesson plan another teacher could follow. That is what connects the projects here. The useful part was usually the repair, not the first version.
